This week’s story comes from Illinois, where an engaged couple scheduled to get married last weekend amid the pandemic made a massive decision: they cancelled the wedding, and used their catering deposit to provide a thanksgiving meal to over two-hundred people in need. They also donated their venue deposit toward a future event for the local epilepsy foundation. Billy and Emily Lewis ended up getting married at city hall in Chicago, but have no regrets, as Emily said “in the grand scheme of things, canceling a wedding isn’t the worst thing that can happen. We’re happy to be married, and we’re so happy that we could help others enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.” congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Lewis, and may your selfless act help inspire us all.
