This week’s story comes from South Kingston, Rhode Island, where 16-year old Shane Jones has been buying storage units at auction, and then returning the contents to their original owners. Shane enjoyed collecting and selling second-hand items and discovered buying old storage units. But he realized most of the contents were actually personal items like photos and family mail, and was lost by the owners because they could not afford to pay. So Shane began tracking down old storage owners and has surprised many families with heirlooms lost in storage. “they were all very happy,” said Shane. “one guy’s brother tried to offer me money but I didn’t accept it. It was something to do and it was nice.” what a thoughtful and creative way to make someone feel good, way to go Shane!
