Today’s story comes from Strongsville, Ohio, where 95-year-old world war two veteran Frank Grasberger finally met a pen pal he had been searching for 12 years. Back in 2009, a 9-year-old third-grade student Dashauna Priest wrote a heartfelt thank-you letter to a veteran she did not know. Grasberger received the letter, and was so moved by the kind words and crayon drawing of an American flag, he ended up carrying the letter everywhere he went. He always wanted to meet a priest in person, and finally, with a little help from friends using social media, he got a surprise visit from a priest, now 21-years-old and serving in the national guard. The emotional moment was caught on tik tok, with everyone in tears of joy. “this is a god-send. I never thought I’d see you,” said Grasberger. Priest was equally excited and said “I was so moved that he was holding on to something so small. If anyone deserves this little moment, it’s definitely him.”
